recommended that the students be of similar  level. If you book  with a friend who has never  touched a silk and you are an intermediate  student the instructor will need to teach at  the level for the student with less experience.

Drop ins are available if there is room in the class and the student has taken a 101 class in that apparatus or beginner course.

Missed Classes/Make Up Classes:
Missed classes will not result in a refund. Aerial 4 Me allows one free "make-up" class per six week session, when advanced notice is given to the instructor of the student’s absence. Make ups are intended to be used during that six week session time frame. If there is room in another scheduled class of the same level or lower, the student can make up during that scheduled time. Otherwise, make-up classes must be done through open gym.

Make-up classes are not intended to catch the student up on exact material missed but to allow them time to work on the equipment. If the student misses more and wishes to attend a make up session at their own expense the cost will be for a drop in class and must be scheduled.
Aerial 4 Me does NOT pro-rate or refund for any missed classes.
If class is canceled due to weather or instructor illness, Aerial 4 Me will offer a make-up class or pro-rate option.
Cancellation Policies by Aerial 4 Me : Aerial 4 Me, LLC reserves the right to cancel any class, workshop or event due to low enrollment, inclement weather, instructor illness or building issues. Earliest notification will be given via email and/or phone/text. Please make sure we have your up-to-date current contact information on file. If a single class is canceled due to an ill instructor, we will make every attempt to schedule a makeup session. Q: What if I have studied aerial before?

A: Please let us know who you have learned from and what poses and locks you can do. We will work with you to place you in the most appropriate level for your skills. We can also schedule an evaluation during a scheduled open gym time where a teacher will work with you to see where you will best fit with our curriculum.

Q: How do I sign up/ register for a class?

A: Visit our website and click on the links for registration/sign up. This will direct you to our Mind Body site. You’ll need to create an account using your email or Facebook and follow the prompts.

Q: What is Mind Body?

A: This is our student account tool that allows you to sign up for the classes and pay all online. Mind Body is PCI compliant.

Q: Do you have classes for my child (under 13 years old)?

A: Currently we offer evening classes which consist mostly of adults. We allow teens as young as 13. A parent will need to do the registration for all minors. When creating your account (parent creates one in their own name) you will want to click on "add a family member" and add your child's info and please fill out their profile completely. On the first day of class. Please come a little early and introduce yourself to the instructor and drop off your child's signed waiver.

If your child is under 13 you can book private lessons (either solo or group, group lessons are cheaper) however our schedule is limited.  Email us to inquire if you have a child interested.

Q: I have an old injury or health condition, can I still participate?

A: With any form of physical activity please consult a physician before starting any new exercise program. People with low blood pressure or poor circulation will want to consult a physician since we invert and are upside down. We also knot the silks on our feet which can be a concern for students with poor circulation. If you are sensitive to motion sickness you may be at risk for motion sickness while on the equipment.   Please be sure to let your instructor know of ANY injuries or health conditions before participating.

Q: What if I am afraid of heights?

A: No worries! We work low to the ground at beginner stages and you only go as high as you feel comfortable. All movement in level one can be done two feet off the ground. One of our instructors is afraid of heights as well and it hasn't stopped her! Just let us know if this is an issue for you so we can work within your limits.

Q:I can't do pull ups! Can I still take class?

A: Yes you can still take the class! You don’t have to be able to do a pull up to take our beginner class however being able to hold your own weight up will help tremendously and is recommended. Not sure if you can?

- Can you hold a plank for 10 seconds? (What’s a plank? It’s the “up” position of a push up)

 - With the assist of a chair, can you get into a pull up position, bend your knees and hold it for 3-5 seconds?
 - Can you hold yourself in a crab walk position with your butt off the ground for 5 seconds?

Even if you can’t do any of the above, with patience and the right attitude you can build the strength while taking the class and have fun doing it.

Q: Don't I have to be super strong to do this?

A: No, you don't have to start super strong. We will work with you to build your strength through warm ups, conditioning, stretching and working on the apparatus.

Q: Is there a weight limitation?

A: No. Our equipment is able to take thousands of pounds. Its limitations are measured in Kilonewtons.

Q: Am I too over weigh, too old or too out of shape to do this?

A: Our beginner level is adjustable for each student’s abilities. All moves are learned low to the ground while the student builds the strength to climb. Climbing is more difficult the more a student weighs. This is because you are lifting your own body weight; however your muscles will develop and get stronger by just trying. With every attempt, you are working those muscles and the more you try the stronger you get. The best advice I can give to all students is have patience with yourself and don’t compare your progress with your neighbor’s. Every one progresses at their own pace. Your journey is just that, Yours! So enjoy it and have fun!

Q: What if I'm not flexible? Can I still do aerial?

A: Yes! We will work on your flexibility on the ground and in the air. We’ll even give you stretches you can work on at home. You’ll be amazed how quickly your flexibility will increase if you do a little each day and do it properly.  Form and body awareness are key for successful stretching.

Q: What should I wear?

A: Wear comfortable stretchy clothing that covers the back of your knees, armpits, and waist when arms are extended above the head.

Feet exposed, we work barefoot. Layers are recommended to adjust with temperature and some movement can cause abrasions. An extra layer can help.

  • Men should wear a dance belt or support brief.
  • Because we work upside down, ladies may want to wear a sports bra under a leotard that is low cut for modesty.
  • Please remove ALL jewelry before the start of class. This is to avoid snags on the fabric.
  • Long hair should be tied back.
  • Long finger nails (acrylic tips, etc) are not recommended. They make it difficult to grip the apparatus properly and safely.
  • If you are a person who wears glasses, you may want to wear contacts since we go upside-down a lot.

Extra tips on Clothing (for the serious student):

Unitards and tights made from Nylon/Spandex, or cotton/lycra blends are preferred. Slick fabrics such as parachute pants and wind pants are not appropriate. Wear two pairs of tights or a pair of tights underneath workout pants to minimize/avoid leg abrasion. Do not moisturize or put oil on your skin before class, this causes skin abrasion. To ease floor stretching, bring socks or ballet slippers.   Wear tights that end at the calf level, to ease wrapping the silk on your leg.
