Class Descriptions

101 Aerial Taster Class

Not sure if Aerial arts is right for you? Come take a beginner taster class. You’ll get to meet the instructors, learn a bit more about aerial arts and get a 101 lesson. Come try it out once before signing up for a 6-week class.

This class is required for students who want to drop in the 6 week level 1 Aerial Class. We offer 101 taster classes in both Silks and Lyra separately.

Aerial Silks

Our aerial silks classes are a 6 week commitment. Classes meet once a week for an hour.

All classes have a class size limit. This is to ensure students get adequate time on the equipment and teachers are able to spot students in a safe ratio. Once the class is full no more students may enroll.

What class/level should I take?

All Students start with Level 1 where the basics are learned. Our curriculum is comprehensive and builds on each week's lesson. Students will stay in a level until they receive approval from their instructor to move up. We encourage students to have an open dialog with their teacher on their progress and if they should stay in a level for the next session or move up.

Students repeating a level will be challenged with new material and modifications.  Aerial 4 Me staff will continually monitor and evaluate students’ progress. If you feel that you are not being challenged enough speak with your instructor. Learning aerial is about a progression of lessons not learning one trick.

Drop In Students:

Students are allowed to register as a drop in student only if:

1.) They have taken the 101 Aerial Taster class then they can register to drop into level 1.

       or

2.) They have completed a 6 week series of the class level in which they would like to drop in to.

We allow only a couple spots for drop in students for classes that are not at max capacity.

Lyra/Hoop

The aerial hoop (also known as the lyra or cerceau/cerceaux) is a circular steel apparatus (resembling a hula hoop) suspended from the ceiling, on which circus artists may perform aerial acrobatics.

  • Our aerial hoop classes are a 6 week commitment. Classes meet once a week for an hour.

  • Or students can drop in by picking the dates they want if they know how to mount a hoop or have taken a hoop 101 taster lesson.

  • All classes have a class size limit. This is to ensure students get adequate time on the equipment and teachers are able to spot students in a safe ratio. Once the class is full no more students may enroll.

Classes are for Teens 13 and older - Adults

Open Gym

Open Gym Rules:

Due to liability, open gym is only open to students of Aerial 4 Me or past students with teacher permission.

Open gym does not include instruction, but will be supervised by an instructor or staff member. Students should only practice skills they can do safely on their own. This is a great opportunity to condition, stretch or work on perfecting moves you learned in class.  Aerial Open Gym is $8 and must be paid at time of arrival or before.

Open Gym may be used as a make-up session for a regular class that was missed by current members. Arrangements must be made ahead of time (24 hrs min) Under no circumstances should anyone other than an Aerial 4 Me instructor teach skills to a student. If you can't remember how to do a move from class please ask a teacher or teacher assistant. If neither are available, please work on other material you can do without guidance. If you violate safety rules you may have your privilege to open gym revoked. Thank you for understanding and keeping everyone safe!
